The first time I heard the

voice of my heart

The first time I heard the

voice of my heart

11 May 2021

This is the story of how I first heard the voice of my heart in a very deep and profound way. Little did I knew then how much it would change my life, and how everything from that point on would start to shift. Slowly slowly, piece by piece.

Only to be rebuild again and again. Reborn like a phoenix into an ever-lasting cycle of letting go and holding space for the unfolding.

It was the 11th of May 2013, I was participating in a trail running race in the south of Sweden. A part of the race was called the death zone. Me being an adrenalin junkie at that time found it intriguing to have a race full of “killer hills” as I called it then; meaning very steep and quite dangerous parts. If you fall you can hurt yourself quite seriously.

As I was running along the side of a steep hill, it felt like the world around me stopped for a moment, the birds sang louder and it was like I was running into a portal. Then a very strong feeling in my heart, a depth I have never felt before, and an echo inside saying:

"If you want to survive, you have to trust yourself"

Later on, it hit me: Yes I don’t trust myself. Yes, I am constantly chasing rushes to feel alive. Yes, I am always chasing the extremes to push myself on all levels of my being.

After the race, that deep feeling in my heart stayed. I couldn’t understand at first what actually happened, I just knew something had shifted in me.

From that point on things started to fall away, first slowly, and then came the rapid changes.

I started to embrace and live more in the unknown.  Following the echo and vibration inside of me. Listening deeply to the messages. Holding the space for all that wanted to come through in every moment.

The more I observed the inner and the outer changes in me, the more I realized that there is one thing that doesn’t change. The vibration of my heart stayed the same. No matter what happened.

It became my biggest anchor.

My teacher.

My guide.

When things seemed chaotic, unlogical, crazy…  When I was asked again and again to trust in the unforeseen. To hold my ground no matter what, no matter how scared I was that the worst would happen.

My heart showed me again and again that miracles do happen. All it takes is for me to trust myself. Trust the power that lies inside of me. That I have the strength to go through whatever is presented in my life.

Since that day 8 years ago, so much have happened in my life. And it was all about trust.

The trust in life.

The trust in that inner voice, the intuition, the gut feeling.

It all starts with that…
